Facebook ads are filled by new cloths, electronics, footwear etc. Number of people call me every week and ask about how to build an e-commerce (Online) store in India (Thanks Google, for ranking me higher for e-commerce Consultant!).

Subdomains and Ecommerce tracking with Google Analytics (Working)

I’m working for MigRelief as Internet Marketing Consultant. The main site is hosted on Primary domain and store/cart is at ‘Store’ Subdomain. We use common Google Analytics profile with a single tracking UA.

Common problem with Subdomain tracking

The Google Analytics data had two problems.

  • Self-Referral issues (Counts visits among subdomain as Referrals)

Clean design and faster site. Server|Servers is|are in India and the pitch ‘India’s first Online Fashion Brand‘ motivated me to explore.

The home page is more effective than its landing pages. You see a model wearing a cloth, you want to look like alike and it increases the chances of a sale.

BigCommerce (hosted version of Interspire) is a feature rich Ecommerce platform. I love it and always recommend it to my clients.

Most of the BigCommerce and Interspire users,  find it very hard to enable conversion tracking for Google Analytics. It’s very important for any Ecommerce Business owner. And if you’re using Google Adwords, ROI is incomplete without Conversion Tracking.

Anyways, let me clear something here. Google Analytics E-commerce Tracking and Google Adwords Conversion tracking both are different things and different tracking codes are required.

E-commerce tracking helps you to see various sales data inside the Google Analytics and Conversion tracking helps you for calculating ROI of your Google Adwords campaigns.
