What about Knol? Google!

by Ankit in General

When Google Knol launched, I was very happy. At the same time, I was a regular technical Blogger. And you know that something from Google always makes happy them.

Well, I was happy and I thought Knol is going to rock. No more About.com, WikiPedia or any ezines. I have the power to publish like them and I will earn too. The sky looked very near.

OK, so this remained for 3 months. I backed to the normal Blogging and almost forgot Knol. My recent love with Ezinearticles forced me to do the little search about Knol and here is the piece.

I think Pictures are more supportive here than my ugly language. So, have a look at the couple of snaps.

Knol and Ezinearticles Comparison

Knol and Ezinearticles Traffic Status - Compete.com

Ezinearticles Global reach

Google is Loosing 1% of Global Traffic

Ezinearticles slow

Even the site is slow! Google, is this the reason for making site speed an important factor?

Ezinearticles Upstream Sites

Hey Google! Now it's official. You do not want to promote your own daughter Knol!

How Google Knol is better than other Ezinearticles?

  • Google Brand
  • Revenue Sharing
  • Complete flexibility in content
  • Advanced Features for everything like Publishing, sharing etc

What will Google get if Knol outranks Ezinearticles?

  • Around 1% of Global Traffic
  • Largest Content Farm
  • More talented authors, article writers and bunch of marketers

How can Google Knol fight with Ezines?

  • Willing to Promote it (It doesn’t have)
  • Giving authority to Knols (Even some two years knols doesn’t has a page rank)

This is what Techcrunch think about Knol.

Well, that’s enough about them. Am I a Google Lover?

Thanks

Ankit

Interesting information. But you can clarify what you want to say somewhat more.

I have many knol articles that rank fairly high in google search results and get good visitors numbers and page view numbers every day.

I just wanted to say that Google can compete with some content farms or ezines. But Google is not taking Knol seriously as its other services.
